Joyce Hennington Dale

WOODVILLE – Joyce “Joy” Dale, 87, of Woodville, MS, born March 10, 1937, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025.

Joy was a member of Woodville Methodist Church. She married her high school sweetheart on Oct. 18, 1958, and they were married for 66 years. Joy was known and loved for her cooking. She was very skilled at sewing, and making quilts and outfits for all her grandchildren. She loved to travel, no matter the destination. Joy’s main priority was always John and their children. Some of her best memories were of time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Joy is survived by her husband John Dale; sons, Brad (Pam) Dale, and Randy (Alisa) Dale; daughter, Deborah (Billy) Hill; sister, Mary Ann (Robert) Parman; grandchildren, Shelby (Brent) Martin, James (Amanda) Dale, Lance (Emma) Dale, Cassie Dale, and Brooks (Tori) Hill; two great-grandsons, Jackson Dale and Stetson Dale; three great-granddaughters, Millie Martin, Maddyx Martin, and Anna Grace Dale.

Joy is preceded in death by her parents, James and Edna Hennington.

Visitation and funeral services will be held at Woodville Methodist Church. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, March 12, 2025, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. A graveside service will follow at Wintergreen Cemetery in Port Gibson, MS, under the direction of Newman Funeral Home.
