NATCHEZ – Funeral services for Marion Walter Williams Jr., 48, of Houston, TX, formerly of Natchez, who departed this earthly life on Saturday, March 1, 2025, in Houston will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025, at 11 a.m. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church-The Vision Center with Rev. Alfred Smith officiating.
Burial will follow at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2025, from 4:30 until 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home and will continue on Friday, March 14, 2025, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
Marion was born on Oct. 5, 1976, in Natchez, the son of Josie Brooks Bates and Marion Williams Sr. He was a 1995 graduate of Natchez High School and furthered his education and graduated from Copiah-Lincoln Community College and the University of Houston. Marion built a career in financial operations. His hobbies included football and fishing. Marion was a “die-hard” Dallas Cowboys fan.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Cerita Brown; grandfather, George Brooks; aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Marion leaves to cherish his memories: son, Marion Williams III; daughters, Anais Williams and Olivia Williams; parents, Freddie and Josie Bates and Marion and Dianthony Williams; brother, Terry L. Williams (Danielle); sisters, Brittany Bates and Cassandra Robinson; grandmother, Rosie L. Brooks; aunts: Daisy Bates (John), Sarah Morris, Laura Jackson and Patricia Williams; uncles, George Brooks, Henry Brooks (Gwen), Marcellus Brooks; other relatives and friends.
