VIDAILA, La. — Clarion Suites, a 103-room full-service Mississippi riverfront hotel on the Vidalia Riverwalk, is being auctioned with bidding now live on the website redfieldgroup.com.
Formerly known as Comfort Suites, the Clarion Suites hotel, owned by Virgil Jackson of Jackson Enterprises Inc., has been a fixture of the Vidalia Riverfront for over a decade.
The online-only auction ends March 25 at 2:30 p.m. Redfield Group is auctioning the property in conjunction with Patrick Gibson of United Country — Southern States Realty. Founded 25 years ago, Redfield Group has conducted auctions in over 40 states and in Mexico, said Mike Fisher, president of Redfield Group.
“We’ve been involved with this sale for the last 90 days,” Fisher said. “It is an online-only auction. Those who have an interest in finding out more can find a ton of information on our website at redfieldgroup.com. There you find a lot of documents, auction information packets and surveys.”
The bidding starts at $2 million, he said. At the end of the bidding, the owner has the right to accept or refuse the sale.
The hotel was previously listed for sale by Edna Murray of Murray Land & Homes LLC for $7.5 million.
The property is available for preview and inspection on March 13 and March 20 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. or by appointment.
Nestled along the Mississippi River, the 103-unit hotel boasts riverfront views and amenities such as an indoor swimming pool, fitness center, bar and lounge, entertainment and dining areas and conference rooms to attract business and leisure travelers alike. There is also the option to purchase the adjacent 6,600 square foot commercial property that is currently leased as a day spa.
