FERRIDAY – Funeral services for Betty J. Carter, 73, of Ferriday, LA will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 11 a.m. from Mt. Beulah Baptist Church, 149 Calhoun Crossing Road in Ferriday. Burial will follow at the Ferriday Cemetery under the directions of Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 5 until 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Carter, daughter of Leslie Carter and Essie Holmes Lewis, was born in Ferriday and died at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was of the Baptist faith and a homemaker.

She is survived by her children, Andrew Carter, Jr. (Candace) of Memphis, TN; Tony Carter and Tyrone Carter both of Ferriday; Ulanda Carter of Atlanta, GA; her siblings, Anthony Holmes, LaVone Carter, and Pinkey Thomas all of Ferriday; Stacy Thomas, and Hazel Smith (Jerry) all of New Orleans, LA; Annice Jackson of Ruston, LA; Vera Cowin of Atlanta, GA; eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceding in death are her parents, and two children, Calvin Carter and Brenda Carter.
