FERRIDAY, La. — Officials said a man who was allegedly run over twice by a vehicle on Sunday “is stable but in serious condition.”
The victim, identified as Robert Jefferson Reid, had been transferred from Trinity Medical Center to a larger hospital following the incident at 6:42 p.m. on Sunday, Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office officials said.

William Goodwin
CPSO arrested and charged William A. Goodwin, 61, of Ferriday, with attempted vehicular homicide and simple battery related to him punching Trina Liening in the face after she reportedly tried to reach into the vehicle to stop him.
Goodwin had already left the scene when deputies arrived and found Reid with road rash scars along his left leg and a bloodied face. He was conscious when transported to Trinity Medical Center. Liening reportedly had broken glasses from being hit.
Deputies later arrested Goodwin on Sunday at his residence on Cowan Street in Ferriday without further incident.
A motive for the incident is unknown, however, CPSO Public information director Brandy Spears said Reid and Liening had been staying with Goodwin at his residence and were beginning to leave when the incident happened.
