NATCHEZ – Funeral services for Willie Scott Foster, Jr., 91, of Natchez, who departed this earthly life on Friday, March 14, 2025, in Natchez will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church with Rev. Anthony Colenburg officiating.
Burial will follow at Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025, from 5 until 6 p.m. at the funeral home and will continue on Friday, March 21, 2025, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
Willie was born on Nov. 20, 1933, in Natchez, the son of Mary Marion Foster and Willie Scott Foster, Sr. He was a graduate of St. Francis High School and furthered his education at Natchez Junior College. He was retired from Diamond International Corporation. Mr. Foster is a member of St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church where he previously served as a Class Leader and Trustee. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, baseball and watching old westerns.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lillie Foster; former wife and mother of his children, Johnetta B. Foster; daughter, Shelia Foster Blakes; grandson, Bryant L. Foster; brothers, John B. Foster, Robert L. Foster, Sears M. Foster and sister, Ollie Foster Brown.
Willie leaves to cherish his memories: son, Willie Scott Foster III (Patricia); daughters, Terriwanda Faye King (Rev. Cottrell) and Jerrilyn Agetha Banks (Rev. Charles); brothers, Charles Foster and Walter Foster (Ada); brother-in-law, Willie Rice, Jr.; sisters-in-law, Inez Foster and Mary Foster; ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
