VIDALIA, La. — Two people from Natchez were arrested on Thursday, March 13, after both reportedly beat and robbed victims while displaying an AR-15-style pistol. LaJessica Washington, 22, and Archie Pinder Jr., 18, both of Natchez were arrested and charged with two counts of armed robbery and one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Their bonds were set at $495,000 each. Police also have warrants for the arrest of a third suspect who has not yet been named.
Vidalia police reportedly received a call on Sunday, March 10, at approximately 12:46 a.m. from a victim stating three individuals attempted to rob him as he was returning home.
After this robbery attempt, the victim stated the suspects forced him to show them where another person lived. The suspects reportedly made contact with the second victim and beat him while displaying an AR-15-style pistol. The second victim received several injuries from this incident and had items stolen from him in the process.
The suspects were identified and warrants were issued for their arrest.
“These arrests show we won’t tolerate this type of behavior,” said Chief Joey Merrill. “I thank Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten and his deputies for their assistance in making these arrests. This is yet another example of local law enforcement agencies working together to keep our communities safe.”
An investigation is ongoing and police expect the third arrest to be forthcoming.
