NATCHEZ — A $200,000 bond has been set for a man charged with a shooting that injured another person on March 2 at the Holiday Apartments in Natchez.

Natchez Police Cheif Cal Green said that Christopher Donte Johnson, 39, had been arrested on aggravated assault and contempt of court charges related to the March 2 shooting that injured Charles Jones, 51, of Natchez.

Green said that the two “were supposed to be friends” and that a disagreement led to Johnson shooting Jones.

Jones had been airlifted from Merit Health Natchez to be treated for a non-life-threatening injury after he’d been hit in the lower abdominal region, Green said at the time.
