Graveside service will follow at Natchez National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m., under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home. Jason was born on Friday, Feb. 9, 1979, in Tomball, TX, and passed away Friday, March 21, 2025, on Lake St. John, LA. Jason was a man of deep faith and a member of the First Baptist Church of Vidalia. On Feb. 5, 2025, he married the love of his life, Crystal, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. A dedicated son, husband, father, and brother, Jason was the foundation of his family, always leading with strength, kindness, and an open heart.

He worked for many years as a truck supervisor at Camo Construction, but his greatest service was to his country. Jason joined the United States Coast Guard and later served as a decorated war veteran in the Navy Seabees, achieving the rank of E5. His tour in Fallujah demonstrated his courage, dedication, and love for his country—a true American hero.

Jason had a rare gift for storytelling, a sharp wit, and a sense of humor that was truly one of a kind. He and Crystal complemented each other perfectly, bringing out the best in one another. Jason became a social butterfly, going, and living life to the fullest with his wife. He enjoyed spending time with his children. Teaching his son to work on vehicles and cherished his time with his babygirl. Of course, a true countryman who enjoyed shooting guns. Jason’s hugs were unforgettable, and to know him was to love him.

He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Earl Tipton; maternal grandparents, Mamie Bice and Julius “HumpTotey” Westmoreland; and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Tipton.
Those left behind to cherish Jason’s memories are the love of his life, Crystal Gail Thompson Tipton of Vidalia; mother, Cheryl Westmoreland Tipton and her husband, Barry Emfinger; and children, Damon Tipton, Sadi Barnes (Brandon), Landon Davis (Presleigh), Brody Bequette, and Sebastian White.

Honoring Jason as pallbearers will be Chris Strickland, Jason Grantham, Wayne Cole, Jason Ellington, Landon Davis, James Green, Brandon Barnes, Brody Bequette, and Sebastian White.

Honorary pallbearers will be his fellow work family at Camo Construction.
