Miss-Lou Women’s Legacy Leaders Gala celebrates outstanding women, scholars

NATCHEZ — The Miss-Lou Women’s Legacy Leaders Gala on Sunday celebrated the remarkable achievements of women and scholars who are making a lasting impact on their communities, organizers said.
“From beginning to end, the program was nothing short of amazing, honoring leadership, excellence, and dedication, said Bettye Bell of Pretty Girls with Brains, the nonprofit organization hosting the event Sunday at the Natchez Convention Center.
“Twelve outstanding women were recognized for their impactful contributions to the Miss-Lou area, highlighting their dedication to community service, leadership, and positive change. In addition to these inspiring leaders, twelve scholars were honored for their outstanding academic achievements, marking them as proteges for future leadership roles.”
Bell said the event was a phenomenal success, bringing the community together to celebrate excellence and empowerment.
“The gala not only acknowledged the achievements of today’s leaders but also inspired the next generation to continue striving for greatness. With an atmosphere filled with inspiration and appreciation, the Miss-Lou Women’s Legacy Leaders Gala proved to be a night to remember, reinforcing the power of leadership and the importance of uplifting those who shape the future.”
Honorees Sunday included: Michelle Bethea, Barbara Crenshaw, Robbie Cade Furdge, Gabrielle Day, Tameka Davis, Latoya Fleming, Lovia Granger, Jarita King, Christine Logan, Yolanda Morgan, Zadier Thomas and Sharon West.
Young scholars, or “proteges” honored included: Brooke Baldwin, Peyton Bell, Telesa Broadway, McKayla Crews, Dominique Doss, Harmony Washington, Jayla Pitcher, Cinya Scott, Angelica King and Zoey Wiley.
Miss Hospitality Natchez Charlotte Book also attended the event.
