JACKSON – Adams  County residents who purchased certain generic drugs could be eligible for a portion of a $29.1 million settlement.

The settlement is part of a suit filed by Mississippi and 50 states and territories against generic drug manufacture Apotex over conspiracy to inflate prices and limit competition.

“Many Americans rely on generic drugs to afford important and even life-saving care. Our investigation found that consumers were being deceived and paying artificially high prices,” said Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch. “My office is committed to holding these companies accountable and taking action to lower drug costs. We encourage any Mississippian who thinks they may be eligible to register today.”

Attorney General Fitch announced the settlement in principle with Apotex last fall along with a $10 million settlement with Heritage Pharmaceuticals. At the time of that announcement, the settlement with Apotex was conditioned on the signatures of all necessary states and territories. Those signatures have been obtained, and the coalition has filed the settlement in U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut in Hartford.

The settlement applies to generic prescription drugs purchased between May 2009 and December 2019. You can review the complete list of drugs here . To determine your eligibility, call 1-866-290-0182 (Toll-Free), email info@AGGenericDrugs.com, or visit www.AGGenericDrugs.com.
