NATCHEZ – An acclaimed soprano will bring the Songs of the South to life during a concert this Saturday at Lansdowne estate.
The Natchez Festival of Music is offering the evening of music and storytelling, which begins at 7 p.m.
From the deeply expressive works of Florence Price and William Grant Still to the nostalgic beauty of Samuel Barber’s “Knoxville: Summer of 1915” and beloved selections from “Show Boat,” “Oklahoma,” “Porgy and Bess” and more, the program is described as a love letter to the heart and soul of the American South.
Susan Ruggiero will perform the stirring collection of music, accompanied by. Dr. Brian Murphy.
Ruggiero has been described as a “stunning and pure” soprano, and she will be in concert for this one evening only.
Tickets are $35 each and seating is limited; reservations are available here.
