NATCHEZ — The Natchez Literary and Cinema Celebration and Sons of the American Revolution on Thursday presented the first act of this year’s celebration, “Follow the Frenchman,” with a living history village on the west lawn of Rosalie.
For the morning, the NLCC brought students of Natchez Adams School District to meet the actors from all over dressed in period attire while they presented aspects of history, such as the Lewis and Clark Expeditions; meeting Native American Tribes while exploring the wild, unsettled lands; learning to melt down metal into musket balls for the American Revolutionary War, and more.
Throughout this weekend of NLCC events, Copiah Lincoln Community College has partnered with The Sons of the American Revolution to host a bicentennial salute to the 200th anniversary of Marquis de Lafayette’s farewell tour of the United States. Events take place through Saturday, March 29. To learn more, visit www.colin.edu/community/natchez-literary-cinema-celebration.
