NATCHEZ — Watch this grand procession from Rosalie down Canal Street to the Natchez Convention Center, built atop the former Steamboat Hotel where Marquis de Lafayette was the guest of honor in 1825.

The procession Saturday served as part of the bicentennial celebration of Lafayette’s farewell tour and included a live reenactment of the celebration with remarks from actors portraying key figures and a salute to Lafayette from Mayor Dan Gibson.

This bicentennial celebration takes place as part of the Natchez Literary Cinema Celebration in collaboration with the Sons of the American Revolution.
