NATCHEZ — Raven Campbell-Smith, who has worked for the last seven years as the county’s nurse practitioner, sent her letter of resignation on March 21 to the Adams County Board of Supervisors.

As nurse practitioner, Campbell-Smith handled all of the medical needs for inmates in the Adams County Jail. In addition, she had an office where county employees could be seen for their medical needs.

Campbell-Smith did not list a reason for her resignation in her letter, and she could not be reached for comment.

Campbell-Smith said her last official day would be April 11, but said she was available to help train a replacement and would stay longer if the county needed that.

Campbell-Smith is a nurse practitioner at Premier Health and Wellness Clinic on Highland Boulevard in Natchez.

Kevin Wilson, president of the Adams County Board of Supervisors, thanked Campbell-Smith for her work and wished her well.

“The supervisors will discuss at an upcoming meeting how we plan to handle that position,” Wilson said
