NATCHEZ – Memorial services for Virginia Louise Whitehead, 86, of Natchez, who died on Sunday, April 6, 2025, in Natchez, will be announced at a later date by Laird Funeral Home.

Mrs. Whitehead was born on June 4, 1938, in Alabama, the daughter of Charles Albert and Evelyn Ferrill.

She was a member of St. Mary Basilica. She was a devoted wife to her husband, James “J.J.,” and mother to her children, Jimmy and Barbara Lynne. She loved and took care of many cats.

Mrs. Whitehead was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Jerome “J.J.” Whitehead; daughter, Barbara Lynne Whitehead Morgan; son-in-law, Billy Morgan; and brothers, Charles Albert Ferrill and Jere Lee Ferrill.

Survivors include her loving son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy Whitehead and wife, Kay of Natchez; grandson, Clay Morgan and wife, April of Shreveport, LA; great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Tyler, Olivia, Cohen and Maggie Morgan all of Shreveport, LA; brother-in-law, W.H. “Henry” Whitehead; niece and nephew, Le Ne Whitehead and Lane Whitehead; and very special friend Charles Rymer.
