“After 13 wonderful years, it’s time for be to say a bittersweet farewell,” she wrote, adding that making the decision to retire and close the shop doors was not easy.

“Serving the Miss-Lou community has bene more than just a business; it has been a passion, a calling and a joy,” Marshall wrote. “Every bouquet, every cake and every special moment we’ve been a part of has meant the world to use.”

She went on to thank her loyal customers. “Your love, support and friendships have made this journey unforgettable,” Marshall wrote. “While I will miss each and every one of you, I am looking forward to spending more time with my children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren – and maybe even enjoying a little well-earned rest!”

Marshall hinted that she may still offer treats from her bakery lines. “You may still see some goodies from me at our local farmers market in the future,” she wrote.

Janel’s Flowers & Buttercup Bakery is located at 483 John R. Junkin Drive.
