NATCHEZ – Funeral services for Bertha Rose Lewis, 84, of Natchez, who departed this earthly life on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, in Natchez, will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Melvin White officiating.

Burial will follow at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Bertha was born on Oct. 30, 1940, in Natchez, the daughter of Sarah C. Lewis and Leonard Lewis. She graduated from high school and was a retired kitchen supervisor. Ms. Lewis served as an usher and sang in the choir. She enjoyed cooking.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Richard Lewis, Leonard Lewis, Jr., and Thomas Lewis.

Bertha leaves to cherish her memories: son, David L. Lewis; brother, Tommy Lewis; sisters, Peggy Scales, Alice Farrow, Delores McKnight, Patricia LeBlanc, and Rita Lewis; daughter-in-law, Lisa Lewis; grandson, Seth Lewis; granddaughter, Gabrielle Lewis; other relatives and friends.
