VIDALIA – Funeral services for Mae Ella Paige, 77, of Vidalia, who departed this earthly life on Friday, March 28, 2025, in Vicksburg, will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Greater Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with Rev. Raymond Riley officiating.
Burial will follow at Vidalia City Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
Mae was born on May 12, 1947, in Lisbon, LA, the daughter of Myrtle and Joe Thompson. She was a graduate of Pineview High School and Grambling State University. Mae was a retired administrative secretary with the Natchez Public School System. Mrs. Paige was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, where she served in the choir, on the Board of Trustees (former president), the By-Laws Committee, and the Benevolent/Food Committee. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, cooking, and traveling with her daughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Tonia Paige; brother, J. D. Thompson; and godsister, Ora Frazier.
Mae’s memories will be forever cherished by her husband, Charles Paige; daughters, Loukisha Jenkins (Malcolm I) and Charlis Paige; sisters, Rose Williams, Alice Anderson, Leona Thompson, JoeAnn Thompson, and Lola Layton; grandchildren, Edward James, Malcolm Jenkins II, LaTonya Smith, Marcus Smith, Marlon Smith; goddaughter, Bre’Honor Harris; other relatives, and friends.
