Vidalia residents will be without electricity Wednesday night

VIDALIA, La. — Heads up, Vidalia residents. The Town of Vidalia has scheduled a system-wide electrical shutdown on Wednesday from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. to perform required maintenance on the Vidalia Substation.
According to a press release, residents and businesses in Vidalia will have no electrical service.
Town officials are asking the community to take proactive steps to prepare for the outage. If you have family members or neighbors who might not have access to this notice—particularly older adults, those with medical concerns, or individuals without social media—please reach out to share the information directly.
Officials said the outage is essential to improve service reliability at the Vidalia substation.
Officials recommend having flashlights, batteries, and necessary medical supplies. To avoid potential damage, consider powering down sensitive electronic devices in advance.
