NATCHEZ – The entrepreneurs behind a popular downtown Natchez bakery are looking for new owners of the business.

A Facebook post on Monday morning announced that Wishes Sweets & Eats is available for purchase.

“Though it may come as a huge shock to many, we have made the decision to put Wishes Sweets & Eats on the market to sell.  … As life leads us in different directions, we are truly hoping to find another passionate baker or entrepreneur to take the reins or make it their own,” the post states. “Wishes is a very reputable and established, turn-key bakery on Franklin Street here in Downtown Natchez and would be a wonderful career and investment opportunity for anyone in the field. The sale of our bakery/café could include everything from the equipment and furnishings to the recipes and more.”

Bakery owner Caylen Caldwell, a Vidalia, Louisiana, native, opened the bakery in February 2024.

Caldwell began her culinary career in pop-up markets sharing her talents under the name Cakes by Caylen. She discovered her baking and cake decorating talent by making a few cakes for Christmas parties and her mom’s birthday cake and posting pictures. Not long after, she started taking requests from friends and family and that evolved into a home business.

When the opportunity to open a brick-and-mortar bakery arose, her mother Stacy Wagoner urged Caldwell to take on the challenge.

In the 15 months since opening, Wishes has grown a steady and loyal following, and Caldwell is seeking a new owner to carry the mantle.

“As life leads us in different directions, we are truly hoping to find another passionate baker or entrepreneur to take the reins or make it their own. Wishes is a very reputable and established, turn-key bakery on Franklin Street here in Downtown Natchez and would be a wonderful career and investment opportunity for anyone in the field.
