Claiborne Sheriff expects more arrests after early Monday morning shooting

NATCHEZ — The Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office has arrested four men in relation to a shooting just after midnight on Monday, April 21.

In a press release shared on social media, the Claiborne Sheriff’s Office said it received a call reporting multiple gunshots fired at the Magnolia Apartment Complex in Port Gibson. Shortly afterward, the sheriff’s office received a report of a Black male victim arriving at the emergency room suffering from a gunshot wound, which was non-life-threatening.

“During the course of our investigation, we were able to identify 12 individuals believed to have been involved in the shooting. At this time, the following suspects have been arrested: Jermiah Jackson, Malik Taylor, Dominic Davis and Kerry Flowers,” according to the press release.

The investigation is active and ongoing. “Additional suspects have been identified, and further arrests are expected,” according to the press release.

The press release did not say what the four men arrested have been charged with. Claiborne County Sheriff Edward Goods was not immediately available for comment.
