No major damage reported from overnight storms

NATCHEZ — Adams County made it through a torrential rain and thunderstorm Wednesday night and early Thursday relatively unscathed.

Tom McGehee of the Adams County Emergency Management Agency said his office received no reports of damage related to the storm.

However, the Adams County Sheriff’s deputies responded to calls about at least two fallen trees. One tree fell on a house at 112 Barth St. and a large portion of a tree fell across Greenwood Plantation Road.

According to Raindrop.farm, Natchez received 3.83 inches of rain overnight. Parts of southeastern Adams County received more than 5 inches of rainfall in the last 24 hours.

The possibility of rain and thunderstorms continues through Thursday, mainly before 7 p.m.
