NATCHEZ — A Natchez man is in critical condition after being shot in the face Sunday night by his stepfather.

Natchez Police Commander Jerry Ford said Joseph Edward Letcher, 47, has been charged with attempted murder after shooting his stepson following an altercation at a home on Liberty Road.

The stepson, whose name is being withheld, was airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center and was in critical condition, Monday morning, Ford said.

No other information was available.
