NATCHEZ – William J. “Billy” Ray of Natchez passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025. Billy was born on July 1, 1961, in Clinton, LA, to Gilbert and Betty Ray.

Billy was a beloved brother, uncle, and a devoted friend to many people. He was a respected and highly skilled contractor in his community. He loved his job and took pride in working on older homes in the Natchez area. Billy had a wonderful eye for antiques and unique items. He was known to pick up a piece for a relative or friend because he knew they would appreciate it as much as he did. He enjoyed relaxing in the evenings with good friends and a good martini.

He is survived by his sister, Carol (Eldon) Davis; nieces, Susan (Mike) DeLacerda and Alice (Trey) Lacoste; nephews, Edwin Davis, Chris (Tammy) Harvin, Jon (Salena) Harvin, David Ray and Stephen (Tina) Ray; sister-in-law, Leota Ray and his two beloved pets, Mozart and Jill.

A special thanks to Frank Gresock, Allan Bridgeforth, and Al Walker who have provided support and kindness during this difficult time.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Betty; sister, Kathy Harvin, and brother, Mike Ray.

Per his wishes, he will be cremated, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
