Ferriday man indicted for sexual assault of juvenile

FERRIDAY, La. — A Ferriday man who had been accused of sexually assaulting a juvenile under 13 years old and then fleeing to Texas has recently been indicted by a Grand Jury in Concordia Parish Seventh Judicial District Court, authorities said.

Terric Cyantre Thomas, 29, was taken into custody on Sunday, Dec. 1, 2024, by Dallas Police Department and faces charges in Concordia Parish for three counts of first-degree rape of a victim under 13 years of age, one count of aggravated flight from an officer, and one count of simple criminal damage to property.

The investigation is still active, according to Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office.

CPSO had initially been contacted around midnight on Nov. 18, 2024, in reference to the sexual assault of a juvenile and contacted the CPSO Special Victims Unit.

With the assistance of the Children’s Advocacy Center and the CPSO Cyber Crimes Unit, probable cause was established to obtain arrest warrants for Thomas.

Authorities were led on a pursuit that crossed parish lines. Thomas reportedly evaded law enforcement in the Lake St. John area after exiting his vehicle and fleeing on foot.

Tensas Parish Sheriff’s Office K-9 tracked Thomas to a family residence in Concordia Parish where the K-9 lost his scent.

Upon learning that Thomas had fled to Texas, a multiple-agency operation was initiated to find him, which led to his apprehension.
