NATCHEZ – Funeral services for Marie Logan Granger, 89, of Natchez, who departed this earthly life on Thursday, April 17, 2025, in Mesquite, TX, will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Christian Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Green officiating.

Burial will follow at Morningstar Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025, from 5:30 until 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home and will continue from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

Marie was born on Aug. 16, 1935, in Natchez, the daughter of Marie Hutchins Logan and Vennie Logan.  She was a 1954 graduate of Sadie V. Thompson High School and was a domestic homemaker. Mrs. Granger was a member of Morningstar Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking, eating, and attending church services.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alonzo Granger; parents; granddaughter, Kenya Washington; brothers, Vennie Logan, Mourise Logan, Leroy Logan, James Logan, Albert Logan, Rev. Walter Logan; sisters, Annie Rose White, Ethel Logan, Dorothy Mae Logan, and Edna Washington.

Marie’s memories will be forever cherished by her daughters, Rinda Washington and Carolyn Brown (Richard); brother, Johnny Logan; sister, Bertha Walters (Morris); grandchildren, Ishmael Washington, Brittany Greene (Tyrell) and Desiree Hall (Adam); great-grandchildren, Jayden Torrence, Elisha Greene, Tyrell Greene Jr., Adam Hall III, Aubrielle Hall, and Akira Hall; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
