NATCHEZ — Miss-Lou’s Relay for Life, scheduled for Friday night, has been canceled due to the threat of inclement weather.

Organizers said Friday morning that on Tuesday, May 13, from 4 to 7:30 p.m., Relay for Life will hold a survivors reception, an awards ceremony and luminaria service at the Vidalia Conference and Convention Center. More details about that event will be shared next week after they are finalized.

Organizers said the safety of all involved was their primary concern, which led them to cancel the event.

The National Weather Service in Jackson has forecast the possibility of severe storms with damaging winds and golf ball-sized hail for the Miss-Lou beginning this afternoon and continuing into the night.
