VIDALIA – Funeral services for Patsy Simmons Dillon, 88, of Vidalia, will be held at Calvary Baptist Church in Vidalia at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 5, 2025. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday. The family will receive friends at Calvary Baptist Church in Vidalia from noon until 1 p.m. on Monday.

Patsy Simmons Dillon, 88, of Vidalia, was born on Sunday, Aug. 23, 1936, and passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for many years and passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, creativity, and faith. Patsy found joy in operating her ceramic shop, where her talent and eye for beauty shone. She deeply loved gardening, especially growing and caring for her hundreds of roses. She was a gifted painter and seamstress who lovingly crafted countless quilts. Patsy enjoyed cooking and collecting recipes. Her warm spirit, gentle hands, and giving heart will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Patsy’s life was a beautiful reflection of grace, creativity, and devotion.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar W. Dillon; son, Stephen W. Dillon; parents, Clyde and Golda Simmons; four brothers, Benard Simmons, Reggie Simmons, Sidney Simmons, and Percy Simmons; and her sister, Ivy Lee Robertson.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Kathy Rutter and husband, Jody of Natchez; two sons, Leslie Dillon and Kellie May, and Paul Dillon and wife, Cyndie all of Vidalia; 10 grandchildren, Stephanie Sturdivant and Jason Crawford, Karen Bishop and husband, Greg, Matt Dillon and wife, Donna, April Blaney and Ryan Hestle, Charlotte Sturdivant, Stephen Dillon and wife, Jacie, James Dillon and Kathrine Sherman, Courtney Fondren and husband, Braxton and Mariana Morris; two sisters, Jeanette Walker Maxie of Vidalia, and Iris Walker of Amite, LA.

She is also survived by a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Those honoring her as pallbearers will be Paul Dillon, Stephen Dillon, James Dillon, Greg Bishop, Ryan Hestle, Tristen Sturdivant, Thomas Geoghegan, and Brooks Bishop.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Leslie Dillon, Jody Rutter, and Tucker Blaney.
