NATCHEZ — The Adams County Board of Supervisors on Monday approved Noble Guedon’s appointment to the Adams County Airport Advisory Board.

Guedon is a replacement for Mitzi Conn, who started working for the county as its new County Administrator in May.

Additionally, the supervisors approved the reappointment of Cane Callon and Dante Weir, who were both already serving on the airport commission.

Supervisor Wes Middleton announced during Monday’s meeting that his appointee on the commission, John McCullough, had resigned and left a vacancy. Middleton had not reached a decision Monday on who McCullough’s replacement will be.

These changes come after the Board of Supervisors voted in April to move the airport commission to an advisory board.

This shifts some of the commission’s responsibilities to oversee the airport’s operations to the county administrator, which is how all other departments of the county operate, said Board of Supervisors President Kevin Wilson. Conn was Wilson’s appointee on the commission before he appointed Guedon, who is a pilot.

Before changing the commission to an advisory board, Wilson said pilots were not allowed to be on the commission, as the commissioners would have set the cost of fuel and hangar spaces.

Wilson said it didn’t make sense for pilots not to be on the advisory board.

“They know what the airport needs. We want a more diversified group,” he said.

Supervisor Angela Hutchins, who was absent from Monday’s meeting, has not stated whether her appointee will stay on the airport advisory board or not. Her appointee is Edward Ealey.
