NATCHEZ – Family services for Florene Elois Harmen, 83, of Tupelo, MS, who died on Friday, May 16, 2025, will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Russell Wagoner officiating.

Burial will follow under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Mrs. Harmen was born on March 8, 1942, in Bude, MS, the daughter of Percy Adams Sr. and Florence Halford White.

She was a strong, determined, and steadfast lady who stood firm in her beliefs as a Christian Mother. She loved her children and grandchildren, and of course her pets, including her African parrot she has had for 25 years. In fact, she supported numerous charities supporting animals of all kinds. She loved the music and legacy of Elvis Presley and had two sons who became Elvis Tribute Artists. She and Edward belonged to the Tupelo Assembly of God Church for many years. Her favorite music was Elvis Presley’s Gospel music. Florene was one of the early members of the Tupelo Elvis Presley Fan Club. She was very proud of her Registered Nurse’s degree, which she received from Co-Lin Junior College.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Earl Moss and Edgar Moss; and two sisters, Mildred Cox and Earlene Fleming.

Survivors include her partner, Edward G. Harmen of Regina, Canada; sons, Tony Curtis, Jackie Curtis and wife, (Pamela), Kevin Curtis and wife, (Tonya); and one daughter, Tammy Curtis McConathy all of Natchez as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews whom she loved.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Curtis, Jack Curtis, Kevin Curtis, and Tammy Curtis McConathy.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Tupelo Lee County Humane Society.
