April 22, 1935 – May 18, 2025

NATCHEZ – Kenneth C. Allen, 90, of Vidalia, was welcomed home into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior on May 18, 2025. Born on April 22, 1935, to Kila Clarence Allen and Elizabeth Mullins Allen in Wesson, MS, Kenneth lived a life marked by faith, service, and love. As Psalm 116:15 declares, “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints,” and Kenneth’s homecoming is a testament to a life devoted to his Savior, Jesus Christ.
Kenneth grew up in Natchez and graduated from Natchez High School in 1953. He joined the United States Navy during the Korean War and deployed throughout the Western Pacific aboard the USS PINE ISLAND (AV-12), where he served as a Disbursing Clerk Petty Officer and 20mm Gunner. After completing his service in the Navy, Kenneth became a barber-stylist and served the Natchez community for decades. His warmth, kindness, and skillful hands made him a beloved figure, and his barbershop was a ministry where he shared the love and Gospel of Jesus Christ with all who crossed his path.
On Dec. 31, 1956, Kenneth married the love of his life, Mary S. Allen, and they were happily married for 50 years and 12 days. Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, and their daughter, Vicki Lynn Allen.
Kenneth was also preceded in death by his father, Clarence Allen; mother, Elizabeth Allen; brother, Dennis Dean Allen; brother, L.C. Allen; and sister, Edress May.
He is survived by his sister, Carolyn Sue Allen Bradshaw, many nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Kenneth dearly, and a multitude of friends within the community, including his close friend, Ms. Nell Harrell.

Services will be held at Laird Funeral Home in Natchez, on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 11 a.m. with a visitation for family and friends from 10 until 11 a.m.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Baptist Children’s Village in Ridgeland, MS.
