CONCORDIA PARISH, La. — Concordia Parish Library introduces for this summer the Summer Reading Programs 2025, which includes a variety of activities and guests such as “the snaketuary,” the live alligator man, jugglers, mimes, magicians, musicians, storytellers and more.

The library will host the summer reading guests and events as follows.

Programs Each Week

·      Mondays at Monterey Concordia Bank for elementary, beginning at 10:15 a.m.

·      Tuesdays at the Vidalia library, pre-school at 9:30 a.m. and elementary at 10:15 a.m.

·      Thursdays at the Ferriday library, pre-school at 9:30 a.m. and elementary at 10:15 a.m.

·      Fridays at the Clayton library, elementary at 10:15 a.m.

For all teens, board games will be on Tuesdays at the Vidalia library at 11 a.m. and on Thursdays at the Ferriday library at 11 a.m.

Concordia Parish Library is also hosting a “Learning Chess” event for all teens every Wednesday in June: June 4, 11, 18 and 25. It will start at the Vidalia Library at 11 a.m. and at the Ferriday Library at 1 p.m.

Summer Reading Guests for June

Musicians Brian and Terri Kinder will be at the Vidalia library at 10:15 a.m. and will be at the Ferriday library at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3.

Storyteller Sylvia Davis will be at the Ferriday library at 10:15 a.m. and at the Vidalia library at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 5.

The Dinosaur Experience, with Martin Wilmott and Family, will be at 10:15 a.m. at the Vidalia library and at 2 p.m. at the Ferriday library on Tuesday, June 10.

Chatty the Mime, featuring mime, magic and juggling – will be at the Ferriday library at 10:15 a.m. and at the Vidalia Library at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 12.

Harvey Rabbit, a music variety show, will be at the Vidalia library at 10:15 a.m. and at the Ferriday library at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17.

Dorian LaChance, a magical storyteller, will be at the Ferriday library at 10:15 a.m. and at the Vidalia Library at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 19.

Wink Danenberg, a juggler, will be at the Vidalia library at 10:15 a.m. and at the Ferriday library at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24.

Terrance Morgan, hip-hop artist, will be at the Ferriday library at 10:15 a.m. and at the Vidalia Library at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 26.

Summer Reading Guests for July

LSU AgCenter Summer Event will be at the Concordia Bank in Monterey at 10:15 a.m. on Monday, June 30; at the Vidalia library at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 1, and at the Ferriday library at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 3.

Rick Hessler, balloon artist, will be at the Vidalia library at 10:15 a.m. and will be at the Ferriday library at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8.

The live alligator man Gabe Giffin, will be at the Ferriday library at 10:15 a.m. and at the Vidalia Library at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 10.

Steve’s Snaketuary, snakeman, will be will be at the Ferriday library at 10:15 a.m. and at the Vidalia Library at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 17.

These Summer Reading Guests are co-sponsored by the Concordia Bank & Trust Co. and Concordia Parish Library. All programs are free and open to the public.
