NATCHEZ — The Natchez-Adams County public pool near the Liberty Road ballpark and the National Guard Armory will open later than expected due to weather debris.

Pool staff had to add chemicals to the water to do a thorough cleaning of the pool after inclement weather on Saturday evening caused floating debris, workers said.

The pool was supposed to open for the summer at 1 p.m. Sunday, but instead is expected to open at 1 p.m. on Tuesday after the Memorial Day holiday.

A 40 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms is in the forecast for Monday, mainly before 3 p.m. and a 20 percent chance after 7 p.m.
