NATCHEZ — A 36-year-old Natchez person died Saturday in a traffic accident in Concordia Parish.

Morgan Freeman sustained fatal injuries in the crash while driving a 2004 Toyota Camry on U.S. 84 West near Louisiana 3180, said a press release from the Louisiana State Police.

The initial investigation shows Freeman lost control of the vehicle and left the roadway, impacting a utility pole and a tree.

Whether Freeman was using a seat belt is unknown, according to the press release. Freeman was pronounced dead at the scene. Toxicology samples were obtained and have been submitted for analysis.
