CONCORDIA PARISH, La. – Officials have reinstated “no wake zone” designation on all lakes in Concordia Parish, including Lake St. John and Lake Concordia.

The public safety notice was issued Tuesday morning by the Concordia Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness and the Concordia Parish Police Jury. The Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office will enforce the designation.

Boaters and recreational watercraft operators are required to operate at idle speed only to prevent wake creation. This action is necessary to mitigate the dangers associated with high water conditions and to protect property, infrastructure, and public safety.
