NATCHEZ – Funeral services for Frances Edna Stampley, 96, of Natchez, who departed this earthly life on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, in Natchez will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at noon at West Gate Funeral Home (George F. West Sr. Memorial Chapel) with Pastor Carl Johnson officiating.

Burial will follow at the Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Fayette under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

There will be no public visitation.

Frances was born on Oct. 5, 1928, in Adams County, the daughter of Edna Adams Brown and Gabe Brown. She graduated from Brumfield School in 1945. She was a nurse for over 40 years. Frances was a member of Zion Hill #1 Baptist Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling with her family and reading books about history. She was very loving and quiet-spoken.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Marion Stampley Sr.; sister, Corine Garrison; brother, Wilson Adams Sr.; niece, Corine Garrison; and nephew, Wilson Adams Jr.

Frances leaves to cherish her memories: son, Attorney Marion Stampley Jr. (Dr. Temple S. Howell); daughters, Frances Stampley, Marilyn S. Washington (Isiah), and Leatrice S. Howell (Dr. Micheal); grandchildren, Nikki Stampley, Phillip Brown, Irene Maria S. Howell, Emily Howell, Marion Stampley III, Madison Stampley, Morgan Stampley; two great-grandchildren, Kaylyn Stampley and Taylar Stampley; and a host of other relatives and friends.
