NATCHEZ — Natchez Water Works’ boil water notice has been lifted.

Jeff Gamberi, water superintendent, said all tests came back clear and water users are no longer advised to boil city water.

The precautionary boil water notice was issued on Monday morning after a lightning strike hit the Natchez Water Works’ pumps. While no line breaks were suffered, the water system briefly lost pressure.

It took until Thursday morning for the testing of the Natchez water samples to be completed.
