NATCHEZ — The Louisiana State Police has increased its reward for information leading to the arrest of the two remaining uncaptured inmates from Orleans Parish Correctional Facility to $50,000 each.
That information was posted on social media on Thursday afternoon.
“The reward applies to each fugitive if your tip leads to their arrest,” Louisiana State Police added in a post.
Antoine T. Massey, Derrick Groves and eight other inmates escaped from the New Orleans jail on May 16. All except Massey and Groves have been recaptured.
Federal, state and local authorities converged in Natchez on Tuesday morning when Massey was reported to have been sighted here. However, after spending the day searching each lead received — by helicopter, on foot and digitally — Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten said it was determined Massey was no longer in the area.
Massey was being held on second-degree murder, obstruction of justice and weapons violations, according to news reports.
Groves was in the New Orleans facility awaiting trial on charges of attempted second-degree murder, armed robbery and illegal possession of a firearm.
Massey has a history of at least four incidents of escaping from custody.
