Ferriday man arrested for molestation of a juvenile

FERRIDAY, La. — A 66-year-old Ferriday man has been recently arrested for molestation of a juvenile.

According to officials of the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office, the department received a report in early March from Ferriday High School about a juvenile victim being sexually assaulted.

The case was turned over to CPSO’s Cybercrime and Special Victims Unit, which immediately opened an investigation that identified Sam Keys Jr., 66, of Ferriday as a suspect.

With the assistance of the Alexandria Children’s Advocacy Center, probable cause was established and arrest warrants were obtained. Keys was taken into custody by CPSO deputies on Thursday, May 22, without incident.

He is charged with one count of molestation of a juvenile victim under 13 years of age and four counts of molestation of a juvenile.

This investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information should contact the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office Cyber/Special Victims Unit at 318-473-0740 ext. 409.

Sheriff David Hedrick thanked the staff at Ferriday High School and the Alexandria Children’s Advocacy Center for their assistance with this investigation.

As always, anyone who is arrested is presumed innocent until they are proven guilty in a court of law.
