FAYETTE — The Fayette Festival turned deadly after multiple gunshots rang out continuously into a large crowd and law enforcement presence on Saturday night.

At least six injuries and one fatality were reported. Multiple departments responded.

Jefferson County Sheriff James Bailey said law enforcement are seeking any information from the public in Fayette and surrounding areas in related to the shooting. No arrests were reported.

“Due to the terrible events that occurred during Fayette Fest, we are requesting for your assistance,” he said. “If you have any information in regards to this mass shooting involving six victims, some critical and one fatality call Fayette Police Department at 601-786-3333, Jefferson County Sheriff Department at 601-786-3403, ask for Sheriff James Bailey, MBI in Brookhaven at 601-515-4340, or call the Crime Stoppers number 1-888-442-5001.
