NATCHEZ – Funeral services for Cyrus Mitchell Sr., of Natchez, 75, who passed away on May 20, 2025, will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025, at Greater New Bethel Baptist Church at 11 a.m. with Pastor Larry Wright officiating under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery.

Visitation services will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2025, from 5 until 7 p.m. at the Marshall Funeral Home Chapel in Natchez, and on Friday, June 6, 2025, from 10 a.m. until the service time at the church.

Cyrus was born on May 11, 1950, in Natchez to Albert S. Mitchell and Katie Mae Mitchell. He honorably served in the United States Army from 1969 to 1973 during the Vietnam Era. He also served as a paramedic for Jefferson Davis Hospital.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Diane Lyles.

Cyrus leaves to cherish his memories six sons: Timothy Credit of Olive Branch, MS, Cyrus Mitchell Jr. of Houston, TX, Verdell Hawkins of Pensacola, FL, Derek Jones of Hattiesburg, MS, Alex Reynolds of St. Louis, MO, and Kristin Mitchell of Fort Worth, TX; six grandchildren; two sisters, Eva Hurns of St. Louis, MO, and Patricia Washington of Dallas, TX; one brother, Albert Mitchell of Dallas, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
