WINNSBORO, LA – Jo Anne McManus Mullins of Waterproof, LA, was born on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 1945, in Alexandria, LA, and passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, in Winnsboro, LA.
She passed away peacefully at 79 years old, leaving behind a legacy of love, creativity, and devotion. She cherished her family above all else, and her greatest joy in life was being surrounded by those she loved.
Jo Anne was a gifted pianist whose music brought comfort and joy to many. A talented seamstress, she had a special touch for quilting, sewing, cross-stitch, and needlepoint. Her hands created countless works of beauty, each stitched with care and heart. She also had a passion for crafting and scrapbooking, known for her eye for intricate detail and thoughtful designs. Jo Anne’s warm spirit, steady hands, and deep love for her family will never be forgotten. Her legacy lives on in the memories, music, and handmade treasures she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; father, Willie McManus and his wife, Lydia, and her mother, Lurline Bullock Puckett.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 58 years, James W. Mullins Jr. of Waterproof, LA; daughter, Kathy “Kat” Mullins Levie and her husband, Bobby of Hammond, LA; two brothers, Larry J. McManus and his wife, Rita of Vidalia, and Michael McManus and his wife, Ann of Pearland, TX and a niece, nephew, family and friends.
