NATCHEZ – Sharon H. Woods of Vidalia passed away peacefully on June 1, 2025, at the age of 78 in Natchez, after a lengthy illness. She was a beloved wife, mother, friend, and grandmother.

Visitation will be held from 10 until 11 a.m. at Grace Methodist Church on June 7, 2025.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. with Rev. Creighton White officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Born in Ironton, OH, to Pauline and George Massie, Sharon was the oldest of three children. She worked for many years as a secretary for the LSU Extension Service in Vidalia, where she made wonderful friends with so many of her coworkers and their families. She was a member of Grace Methodist Church in Natchez. Sharon enjoyed growing plants and flowers and was a member and officer of the Vidalia Garden Club. Once her granddaughters were born, she took great pleasure in scrapbooking many of their adventures.

She was preceded in death by Pauline and George Massie; Pam Hartwig (sister) of Cincinnati, OH; Alvin Massie (brother) of Pedro, OH; Larry Hollan of Vidalia, and Gary Woods of Vidalia.

Sharon is survived by Larry Grable of Vidalia; Michelle Hollan (daughter) of Collinsville, MS; Rebekah Jackson (granddaughter) of Brandon, MS, and Savannah Jackson (granddaughter) of Jacksonville, FL.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Grace Methodist Church or the Alzheimer’s Association.
