Juneteenth Youth Fest 2025: Day of fun, competition, cultural celebration at Frazier Center

NATCHEZ — This Juneteenth holiday, Thursday, June 19, Pretty Girls with Brains in partnership with the Frazier Extended Education and Cultural Enrichment Center will host the Juneteenth Youth Fest 2025, a dynamic, youth-centered celebration taking place from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Frazier Center.

This free, community-wide event is designed to honor the spirit of Juneteenth through a day filled with sports, performances, creativity, and empowerment for local youth and families.

“Juneteenth Youth Fest 2025 is more than just fun and games,” said Bettye Moore Bell, Founder of Pretty Girls with Brains. “It’s a celebration of freedom, culture, and community pride—led by young people, for young people.”

Event highlights are as follows.

Volleyball Tournament from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Six competitive teams will face off in a fast-paced, knockout-style tournament that promises excitement and high energy.

Lunch and Entertainment from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Attendees can refuel with food vendors while enjoying live music and interactive games.

Sack Race Competition from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. This event promises laughter and friendly rivalry in this classic race with a twist.

Dance Competition from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Solo and group dancers will battle it out for top honors based on creativity and crowd response.

Step Competition from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Step teams will bring rhythm and unity to the stage in this crowd-favorite event.

Talent Display from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Singers, poets, comedians, and more will take the mic during this open-mic talent showcase.

Award Ceremony from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Winners from each category will receive medals and prizes during the closing ceremony.

Prizes and Giveaways will happen throughout the day. These events are free for all participants and guests, hosted by Frazier Center and Pretty Girls with Brains.

“Juneteenth Youth Fest 2025 is a vibrant, inclusive celebration that reflects the mission of both partnering organizations to empower youth, foster leadership, and build community,” Bell said. “Residents of Natchez and surrounding areas are encouraged to come out, cheer on the participants, and take part in a joyful day of remembrance and unity.”
