NATCHEZ – Funeral services for Kathleen Dukes, 71, of Natchez, who departed this earthly life on Thursday, June 12, 2025, in Jackson, will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Christian Hope Baptist Church with Pastor Kenneth Stanton officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

Kathleen was born on Aug. 6, 1953, in Natchez, the daughter of Kathleen Dukes Brown and Charlie Dukes Sr. She graduated from North Natchez High School and attended Copiah Lincoln Community College. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant and a Dorm Matron at Alcorn State University until her retirement. In her spare time, Kathleen enjoyed working on puzzle books, shopping, decorating, cooking, dancing, and was a lover of music.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Sylvester Brown Sr.; grandmother, Clora Green Goings; grandfather, Walter Walker Sr.; brothers, Sylvester Brown and Leroy Dukes; and sister, Juanita Dukes.

Kathleen leaves to cherish her memories: her loving daughters, Ka’Chica Paige (Ivey) and Shawandra Reason; godson, Aaron Smith; brothers, Walter Dukes (Diane), Elbert Dukes, Manuel Dukes, Gerald Wells (Shelia), and Charlie Dukes Jr.; sisters, Rose Smith-Wimberly and Charlis Dukes; granddaughters, Nyla Jackson, Sophia Reason, Samira Reason, and Slyvia Reason; and a host of other relatives and friends.
