JONESVILLE, La. — A collaborative effort of multiple law enforcement agencies ended in the arrest of a man sought for shooting in Ferriday on Wednesday.
Donnie Sanders was arrested late Wednesday afternoon at the Edwards Motel in Jonesville during a joint operation involving Catahoula Sheriff’s Office, Jonesville Police Department, Ferriday Police Department, Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office, and Vidalia Police Department.
Sanders was identified as the suspect in a 7th Street shooting in Ferriday around 11 a.m.
Ferriday Police Chief Derrick Freeman said the gunshots fired in the area of 7th Street were apparently aimed at someone in another vehicle. However, Freeman said there was no visible damage, nor was anyone injured in the shooting.
Freeman identified Donnie Sanders Jr. as a suspect and said he was driving a purple Dodge Charger with tinted windows.
Shortly after the incident, Vidalia Police responded to a BOLO alert for the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop on Carter Street on a vehicle that matched the description, but it turned out not to be Sanders, police said.
