NATCHEZ – Funeral services for Michael Cornelius Hargrave, 66, formerly of Natchez, who departed this earthly life on Sunday, June 15, 2025, in Natchez, will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Jerusalem Baptist Church with Pastor Walter Sago officiating.

Burial will follow at the Mercy Seat Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 7:30 until 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home and will continue on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Michael was born on June 29, 1958, in Natchez, the son of Henrietta H. Hargrave and Walter Hargrave. He attended North Natchez High School and later worked as a residential and commercial moving coordinator until his retirement. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching old western movies, WWE Wrestling, listening to music, and attending family cookouts.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Justin Davis and Michael Davis; brothers, Audley Hargrave, Walter Hargrave Jr., and Larry Hargrave; sisters, Barbara Knight Chatman and Sherry Hargrave; and grandparents, Ike Hargrave, Cordelia Duncan Hargrave, Lem Holmes, and Carrie Moore Holmes.

Michael leaves to cherish his memories: sons, Walter Hargrave and Carter Davis; daughters, Delorean Davis White (Timothy), Shanice Hargrave, Erata Hargrave, and Easter M. Hargrave; sister, Linda Hargrave, and a host of other relatives and friends.
