UPDATED 6:25 P.M.:  Local emergency personnel responded to a four-vehicle accident on John R. Junkin Drive involving a Waste Pro garbage truck that had wrecked into the back of a white car. Most of the car was crushed by the truck.

The driver of the car was injured in the wreck and airlifted to the hospital.

For several hours the eastbound lanes of John R. Junkin Drive were closed and motorists were requested to avoid the John R. Junkin between the Natchez Mall entrance and the intersection with Homochitto Street and Lower Woodville Road.
