Under the watchful eye of her mother, Deanna Wallace, 17-year-old Deanna Michelle Wallace spent Saturday afternoon working on college applications for Washington University in St. Louis, Mo., and Xavier University in New Orleans. Wallace will begin her senior year this week at Natchez High School.
